चौघड़िया क्या है?
चौघड़िया हिंदू पंचांग की एक वैदिक समय-गणना पद्धति है, जिसका उपयोग किसी काम को शुरू करने का शुभ मुहूर्त जानने के लिए किया जाता है — ख़ासकर गुजरात और राजस्थान में। दिन (सूर्योदय से सूर्यास्त) और रात (सूर्यास्त से अगले सूर्योदय) को आठ-आठ बराबर भागों में बाँटा जाता है; हर भाग एक "चौघड़िया" है।
चौघड़िया कैसे निकाला जाता है
- अपनी जगह का सूर्योदय और सूर्यास्त का समय लें।
- दिन की अवधि को 8 से भाग दें — यही दिन के एक चौघड़िया की लंबाई है। रात के लिए सूर्यास्त से अगले सूर्योदय तक की अवधि को 8 से भाग दें।
- दिन का पहला चौघड़िया वार के स्वामी से तय होता है; बाकी एक निश्चित क्रम में आते हैं।
